Physical Therapy

The Physical Therapy therapists and assistants assist patients in achieving their highest level of independence in regards to mobility through individualized treatment plans that incorporate a variety of different methods and approaches for numerous diagnoses.

• Stretching, strengthening and mobilization of limbs to enhance and/or restore strength, motion and movement

• Gait training to correct, compensate and/or improve gait deviations and abnormalities

• Neuromuscular retraining to enhance coordination and balance

• Functional based activities that assist in the restoration of independence for meaningful daily activities such as endurance, bed mobility, transfers and wheelchair mobility

• Electric and thermal modalities for improving blood supply, tissue healing, pliability of tissue and movement

• Education and training on new equipment, prosthetics and devices

Occupational Therapy

The Occupational Therapy therapists and assistants assist patients in achieving their highest level of independence in regards to their daily living activities through individualized treatment plans that incorporate a variety of different methods and approaches for numerous diagnoses.

• Training, education and compensatory equipment use for the performance of daily living skills

• Functional based activities that assist in the restoration of independence in daily activities, such as dressing, self-feeding, bathing, hygiene and toileting.

• Recommendations and adaptations to the patient’s environment that promote success and safety

• Neuromuscular retraining to enhance coordination

• Education and training on compensatory strategies, bracing and equipment that promote the highest level of function

• Sensory retraining

Speech Therapy

The Speech and Language Pathologists are focused on the restoration/enhancement/compensation of their patients swallowing, communication and cognitive abilities through individualized treatment plans that incorporate a variety of different methods and approaches for numerous diagnoses.

• Evaluation and treatment of the various components and structures involved in swallowing

• Recommendations of appropriate diet texture and liquid consistency

• Activities designed to strengthen oral motor functions

• Treatment approaches focusing on the improvement of verbal communication skills

• Development and training on communication devices

• Treatment approaches related to memory and cognitive deficits

• Education and training to patient, families and care givers on compensatory strategies
